CASE HISTORY 4 - 'CLEFT POST & RAIL FENCE'
|
The task from one of our regular customers was to supply and erect a traditional Cleft post and rail fence made from Chestnut.
The round Chestnut timber had been seasoning in our yard for some time.
The rails were split by hand in the timeworn tradition with the help and advice of George Farwell.

The final shaping and finishing was carried out in the saw mill, again with George at the helm.
Posts were morticed before being delivered to the site for our experienced fence erectors to bring it all together and form a traditional long lasting fence, in keeping with the beauty of the Forest. |
